Linda Wagner
Linda Wagner has worked with children for the past 34 years as a classroom teacher, owner of a local nursery program, and Youth Education Coordinator at Berkshire Botanical Garden. As an avid gardener, she has moved from elementary education to science and environmental studies through her education and horticultural consultation business, “Outside In”. Her association with NBCA began three years ago. At that time she had left her position at the Botanical Garden to offer enrichment programs in the Earth and Life Sciences in the elementary schools. Many skills needed in science are also skills needed in art. Observation, attention to detail, and understanding of techniques and materials have a relevance to both art and science. By combining the two subjects, the children have an opportunity for creative expression while gaining a better understanding of their world.
